Cybersisterhood is a project that we run together with Marta Grabowska and Muzeum Herstorii Sztuki [Museum of Art Herstory] since 2024. Within this project, we are trying to create a supporting community for people socialized as women and bridge the gaps in understanding technology for us. Just like the previous collectives of women like VNS Matrix, SubRosa or OBN, we're using digital tools AND artistic methods to join forces and create a strong safety net and an environment of trust.
the definition
Cybersisterhood refers to a supportive community of women who connect and build relationships online. This concept emphasises solidarity, mutual support, and empowerment among women, facilitated by digital platforms like social media, forums, and online groups. Cyber Sisterhood often involves sharing experiences, advice, resources, and encouragement, fostering a sense of belonging and collective strength in a digital space. This network can be particularly important for women seeking community and support beyond geographical or social boundaries.
cybersisterhood. a work group
A Cyber Sisterhood Working Group is a collaborative forum focused on exploring, addressing, and advancing the interests and needs of women in the digital space. The creation of the working group is a proactive effort to build a supportive and equitable digital landscape for women addressing both immediate concerns and long-term goals related to digital equity and safety. The group would meet regularly and stay connected in a safe virtual group.
